Road Safety Advice Offered by Local School Children

Dr Alan Billings, South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner, visited Royston Police Station in Barnsley on Wednesday, 4 July to meet police and partner agencies who are co-located there.The Commissioner also went onto the streets of Carlton with neighbourhood police and children from Carlton Primary School who were learning about the dangers of speeding.

YOYO Campaign Springs Back Into Action

Residents at Judith House Women's Refuge participate in a music and song writing project

Victims of domestic abuse in Barnsley are receiving therapeutic music sessions after funding received from the Stronger Together Community Grant Scheme.Qdos Creates were successful in securing a grant of £600 to provide music sessions to residents of Judith House - a refuge for women who have left their homes in order to escape domestic abuse.

Dr Alan Billings, South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner said: "The stabbing of a fifteen year old boy is a matter of great sorrow for his family. It is also deeply troubling for the community and the city since it is the latest in a number of similar incidents involving knives. I cannot comment further on this case but there are some wider messages that we need to communicate to the communities of Sheffield.
